Metaphysical Healing Properties Of Labradorite

Labradorite is a member of the oligoclase, feldspar group and is a sodium calcium aluminium silicate. It is translucent to semi-opaque. Labradorite is truly a fascinatingly beautiful mineral. Its a mineral whose charm is not fully noticed and may be overlooked if not viewed from the proper position. Generally a dull, dark grey to grey-green looking mineral with no special virtue until the colorful schiller is observed glowing on the surface.  The attraction of labradorite comes from its phenomenal quality of peacock-like iridescence, caused by internal twinning striations and a lamellar structure within the stone.

It shows labradorescence (a mineral displays a brilliant play of colors on the surface of the stone). This effect is caused by interference of light from lattice distortions in the stone. The main color flashes in the stone are green, blue, gold, orange, red and sometimes violet. To best see this effect it must be in a light source. Labradorite is found in Canada, Madagascar, Mexico, Russia and the United States. In the 1940s Labradorite was discovered in Finland that exhibited the entire color spectrum, and these were named Spectrolite. This stone is named after Labrador, and is associated with many of the ancient magical practices of the region, including knot rituals.

Its name is derived from a place called the Labrador Peninsula, which is originally a source of Canadian variety of Feldspar stones. On the Mohs scale, it has a hardness of 6.0 to 6.5 and its specific gravity measure of 2.68 to 2.7. Labradorite is a combination of different colors, legend claims Aurora Boreali's birth was from this magical stone when a Knight struck it with a spear and the colors were freed but others were still trapped inside the stone. On wearing this, others testified its mystical properties enabling them to become what they want to be. It is often an off-white to black color, or blue to green one depending on its sizes but also has shades of green or light blue crystals that are widely used to produce jewels. It's flashing colors allow you to produce more energy and help reduce stress, anxiety, and pain. If you want to be protected from the evil presence or negative vibes around you, this semi-precious stone is the right one to give a try. The meaning of labradorite is not linked to any of the Zodiac signs. It's more of giving all of the charms in one powerful stone, but other sources defending its astrological signs are Leo, Sagittarius, and Scorpio.

The Labradorite crystal properties remind us to keep it magical by linking us to the spirit world, a dimension where anything is possible. Other stones keep us anchored to the earth with their powerful grounding effects while Labradorite encourages us to keep our head in the clouds. Your Labradorite crystal stone inspires you to reach for the stars in your quest for a higher consciousness. It bridges the gap between the heavens and physical reality so that your dreams and aspirations don’t seem out of reach. In this way, a Labradorite crystal is one of the most powerful stones that can support your intentions by encouraging you to go after what you truly want without placing any limits on what you can achieve.

Labradorite is particularly effective in alleviating bone issues, disorders of the spinal column and the wear and tear of the joints. Rheumatism and arthritis may also benefit from this stone's healing powers. Labradorite is also said to give perseverance, strength and enhanced intuition when one is experiencing times of conflict and change. Labradorite is told to be helpful in treating eye and brain disorders, and to help regulate metabolism and the digestive process.

Labradorite is a popular decorative stone because of its labradorescence, which creates a dazzling optical phenomenon of a blue green to deep blue sheen that shimmers in the light. Other varieties, including rare specimens, offer a stunning rainbow of green, violet, or orange shimmer often referred to as spectralite. Thanks to the parallel formation of mineral inter-growths within its structure, these lights bounce back-and-forth, which creates its distinctive shimmery, ethereal effect. Not only is this visual appearance quite attractive, but it also perfectly represents the energy of the Labradorite crystal healing properties. By guiding you toward the light and out of the darkness, Labradorite opens your eyes to the magic and possibilities that surround you.

Psychologically, labradorite has a calming and harmonizing effect, so it is a wonderful stone for irascible people. It improves intuition and clarifies the possessor's own views and objectives. It is said to dispel negativity and to bring clear understanding by enhancing clarity of thought and improving one's ability to cooperate with others in harmony.
